Growing up in London with parents from Hong Kong, a lot of my early food memories trace back to my dad’s restaurant in Chinatown. We’d eat there occasionally through the 80s and 90s, and I still vividly remember the framed newspaper clippings of dancers from the Royal Opera House hanging by the entrance. Those visits were my introduction to plates of steamed scallops with glass noodles, Lobster Yee Mein, steamed Dover sole, zha ru ge, and crispy lemon chicken. That’s probably why I enjoy eating out so much today.

With my background in design and working creatively within the food industry, I always want to have a camera close by. I’ll take photos of anything that stands out to me, but honestly, it’s usually whatever happens to be on the table in front of me.

Living in London means I’m never short on great food right on my doorstep. While I’ll definitely share my thoughts on a meal or talk about what I got up to on a trip, I really just wanted a simple space to share the places and plates that make me stop and take a photo, whether I’m grabbing something local or traveling.
